Volunteers
Volunteers are an important and valued aspect of Yeovil Night Shelter Projects and without them the centre would be unable to open.
What will volunteering involve?
- Being able to give a commitment of a regular 2 hours per session perhaps each month
- Assisting in the evening running of the drop in and activities eg making drinks, cooking a hot meal, social interaction, providing help and support to service users.
- Attending training provided.
- Liaising with other volunteers and staff within the shelter
What personal qualities do I need to have?
- Understanding and tolerance
- Ability to accept some responsibility
- Respect for the rights of individuals
- Above all else a sense of humour!!
How will I benefit from being a volunteer?
- Gain valuable work experience.
